Smiles!

We've been getting some concerned emails lately because of the lack of blog posts... don't worry, Patrick's fine. Life has gotten busy, and the medical stuff has slowed down a bit, so we haven't made posting a priority. Our current plan is to continue posting, but not nearly as frequently as we did in the beginning.

I went back to work last week after being out for just shy of 6 months. It was tough to leave Patrick (I made Andy drop him off at daycare!), but it's nice to be back in the office. My coworkers and clients have been amazing throughout all of this and have gone above and beyond to help me ease back into things. On Tuesday morning, I found signs all over my office, a super clean desk (cleaner than it ever was when I was there) and dinner in the office refrigerator. It almost felt like I hadn't been gone at all.

The one area where Andy and I caught a break is daycare. We found a wonderful couple who lives on our street and had an opening for an infant. (They even held the spot for us until he was out of the NICU and ready to be around other kids.) Patrick travels to daycare by foot (Dad's!) and after work, I can go home, let out Ella, then walk over to pick him up.

Our little guy keeps getting more and more fun. He's started smiling, and just melts our hearts each time he smiles with his whole face. It's adorable even at 3AM...
