Party Animal

We celebrated Patrick's first birthday with a St. Patrick's Day themed party. (Pretty creative, huh?) All of his grandparents were there to spoil him with gifts and attention, and his aunts and uncles came, too. The only ones missing were Uncle Mike and Aunt Megs, who live in MN.

Andy decided that we have entirely too much room in our basement, so he aimed to take up the extra space with a gigantic inflatable ball pit. Cousin Jake and Patrick had a blast bouncing around and playing with all of the balls.



After a nice 2-hour nap, Patrick woke up refreshed and ready to tackle some presents and cake. We decided to be proactive and strip him down to his onesie before unleashing him on the frosting.



Cake was a big hit, but we were surprised that he didn't make more of a mess. Andy and I expected that he'd pick up the whole piece and smush it through his fingers. He was very gentle with it, but still managed to get enough frosting spread over him that he went directly from high chair to bath tub.
