Being in a private room is so much nicer than sharing. Ella came for another visit on Saturday and we could let her roam around the room. She was a lot more relaxed this time and even took a few naps while she was here.
I've had a lot of time on my hands, so I've been able to start a little bit of baby knitting. We decided not to find out if we're having a boy or a girl, so naturally, I've knitted pink hats and blue hats. I scaled down the patterns to make them preemie-sized.
For the most part, our test results have been good. The non-stress tests that I have every day show good accelerations of the baby's heart rate , and the baby's doing well on the sonograms, too. We've had a couple incidents where the baby's heart rate has dropped during sonograms, but the doctors seem to think that it's due to me laying on my back. They have been monitoring us both more closely since then, and they haven't seen any more decelerations. If they start happening more frequently, it's possible that they'd make the decision to deliver the baby, so definitely don't want to see any more of those! The doctors would like to see me get as close to 34 weeks as possible... so let's hope that the baby can be patient for 5 more weeks!
One more thing - the mystery food from an earlier post was blushed pears. Gold stars to Dr. Megs and Dorothy for guessing correctly! Megs has been eating hospital food for 4 years, so that explains how she knew what they were, but I don't know where Dorothy has seen highlighter pink pears before....
Christy.... I LOVE the little preemie hats!... I bet the hospital nursery would be very happy to have a few on hand to keep the little ones warm.... I especially like the one that has a pink flower on top!!.... you take care and keep that baby cooking..... D
ReplyDeleteThose hats are adorable...maybe a work-at-home business opp? :)
ReplyDeleteOK, those hats are so freakin' cute, I can't even handle it! Your baby is going to look like a Dr. Seuss character! I LOVE it. You should definitely just keep knitting them and donate them to the nursery. I'm sure other parents would be thrilled.
