End of day 4 in the hospital

Since I am updating from the hospital, this will be brief. Today was exceptionally long for Patrick as he hasn't eaten in almost two days save a few crackers, his fever is still up, and he doesn't move much. It seems his joints hurt to touch, so everything causes pain for him. To see this poor little guy is to know what true pity feels like.

As this is day five with a fever we have graduated to a new Class of individual in the doctor's eyes and have gained much more attention. Today we were seen by a slew of practitioners from residents, fellows, attendings, and specialists. We did a bunch more testing this evening for blood, urine, xray, EKG, infectious disease to try and rule out some options and see what's left, we might know a little more tomorrow about what's actually going on, but for now Patrick is staying put here in Fairfax Hospital.
