Look! He's *almost* wireless!
Patrick doesn't particularly care for his baths, but we discovered that he likes to have his head rubbed and loves getting dried off. (Sounds like a certain golden retriever we know!)

Getting dried off is one of Patrick's favorite things.
After his bath, it was time for breakfast. The doctors have been increasing Patrick's feeds this week, and now he takes a tiny bottle three times a day. We can tell that he enjoys them because he plows right through the 20 mL of milk. He still hasn't had any spit-ups, so the doctors continue to increase both the amounts in his feeding tube and in the bottles. When we called on Tuesday night to check on him, the nurse let us know that Patrick's PICC line has fallen (or was pulled) out. This means that our original schedule of removal next week sometime has pushed a little faster than originally intended. The staff gave him an IV and are administering sugar water rather than the TPN. He seems to be doing just fine on this schedule and looks to still be hungry after his bottle yesterday morning as he was chewing on his hands.

After the bath and the bottle, the little guy was exhausted!
In other news, I washed the little hats I made while I was in the hospital and brought them in for Patrick on Tuesday. The good news is that Patrick is growing! The bad news is that ALL of the hats are too small. I took the bag of hats to the social worker to donate to some of the smaller preemies in the NICU. How fun would it be if I saw one of my hats on another baby?
Since the PICC line is out, we have also been given clearance to bring in some clothes for the young man and see about updating his threads. Andy and I then went shopping for some new clothes and found some great items! Yay!
