It's a beautiful day here in the hospital, but the food is getting a little old. I heard Mom mention something about being tired of the same stuff day in and out, but this is ridiculous.

Playing with Dad's ring again.
Mom and Dad came to visit me this easter morning a little bit earlier than normal. They have a hard time getting out of the house in any sort of hasty fashion, so usually they arrive around 10-11AM. Today they were here a little before 9AM and I had something in store for them.
My typical routine is to open a single eye for a moment or two, then close my eyes shut and sleep for the remainder of the visit. If they are really lucky I'll open both eyes but never for more than 2-3 seconds. This seems to keep them interested in me, and since I am the man, this is all that matters.
However since it is such a nice day and Sunday to boot, I thought I would let them oogle me a little more and I would keep my peepers open for the duration of their stay. Despite not having a tremendous amount of control over my eye muscles I am able to react to sounds and changes in lights. (It's the little things you know?) I may look like a little drunk old man (akin to benjamin button) but I assure you, it's all a ruse to get my folks into a false sense of complacency. I also wanted to show a couple of before and after pictures around the house. It's good to see my folks are picking up the slack around the place:

Dad still stores his juice next to mine, despite Mom's repeated warnings. At least he has raised the bar a little bit in terms of the brewery.

My bathroom is finally complete after just two weeks of work, they finished the impossible. Jim Karr of Colonel's Contracting did a great job. If you need a referral a solid contractor please feel free to reach out to Dad.
Word to Big Bird,

Happy Easter to you guys! It sounds like you had a great visit today and the bathroom looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you all on Easter today! Love the bathroom too!
