No 5 Second Rule in the NICU

Hello to the lovely ladies out there,

The floor in the NICU is some mysterious place where binkies, blankets, thermometers, medical machines, and anything else you can drop go to die. Once something hits the floor it is off limits to use in the room...they really don't like the 5 second rule.

Dad changing my britches.

The really big news is my move.  The side of the room I had been on since arriving in the world was getting a little crowded.  So the nurses rolled my little house across the room to slightly better quarters.  I said my goodbyes to Wyatt, as I am sure I will still be able to hear his alarms from where I am sleeping.  Now my neighbor is a baby who pretty much cries unless she is being held....UGH...clingy girls.

The other curious thing here is my ability to sleep. Today I had a low oxygen saturation, and in order to try and bring this up the nurse took off my blanket and started rubbing my head and body. Nonetheless, I thought it would be a better idea to sleep. I managed to stay asleep and raise this saturation levels. Then mom gave me a bottle that I was able to power though despite staying asleep.

For your viewing pleasure:

Everything else continues to go well. I am keeping my food down, and they are still slowly raising my continuous and bottle feeds. I am retaining a little bit a fluid and they are giving me a diuretic to help pee a little bit. My head and kidney ultrasounds are all clear.

See you later alligator,
Patrick
