This day brings us to technically day 77 in the hospital, and 35 in the NICU. My life in the NICU continues to be a little bit of a roller-coaster and as we have good days, some days have a few rain clouds.
Yesterday I had a visit from some very nice doctors who measured and took a look at my legs. Then they wrapped them in casts from my thighs to the tips of my toes. This is what is called series casting and they will continue to change these casts out every five days until my little feet are helped to turn outward. While they aren't the best things, ultimately they will help to keep me running straight for those times that Mom needs to catch me in the house.

Dad had to practically get me naked to wake up for lunch time
My feeds continue to be both a blessing and hindrance in my life. Most of the time I love the chances I get to eat and gobble down the grub as fast as I can, other times I am sleepy or otherwise engaged in trying to dispel the myth that all I like to do is sleep, eat, and poo. Each meal is a little bit of a challenge since sometimes I don't want to finish, and turn a little bit blue. This is due to my coordination (or lack of) eating, breathing, and swallowing. My folks get a little freaked out when this happens, but I try to tell them that's why I am in the NICU in the first place. The episodes only last a few moments, but they seem to scare the be-jesus out of my folks. The nurses on the other hand have been wonderful in dealing with the spells (as they call them).

Relaxing with Momma in my dinosaur hat!
Mom and Dad have been great support helping me into some clothes and trying to be here for each meal at the request of the medical staff. Hopefully we will be into the home-stretch at some point, but for now it remains a day-to-day operation in Patrick-land.
Kisses to you all,
Patrick
